10 amazing life lessons you can learn from your pets...

10 Amazing life lessons you can learn from your pets!

We have always heard that one’s soul remains unawakened until one love an animal. This awakening happened to me in Feb 2012. When I got my 1st baby kiwi. I have changed as a person completely after having him. To be honest I was an aimless person, he gave me love, life and an aim.

I never understood the beautiful life lessons my kids (my pets) taught me. They come and bless our lives with unconditional love, care and the true art of living. I would love to share some 15 life lessons these four-legged angels taught me that could bring in more humanity within us.

1.      1. LIVE IN THE PRESENT – pets teach us how important it is to enjoy every moment of life, to have one thought If we are in the park, we enjoy the beauty of the park and do not think about what is happening in the office or home etc. To enjoy nature, enjoy the moment as it won’t come back.

2.    2.   BE EXCITED – Have you ever seen how happy your pet becomes when you enter the home after office or even after a 10min walk. We sometimes tell them it is just 10min I was out and look at you jumping. When we take out the leash for the walk have you noticed the energy and the tail wagging, sometimes I wonder the tail might just fall off :P. We should learn this from them to be happy in small things. To be grateful for whatever we have.

3.    3.  FORGET THE PAST – We do a lot of rescues and we have seen pets who were tortured and abandoned by people and lost faith in humans slowly changing and loving them again. They very quickly forgive whatever the human did and start giving them the unconditional love back. Do not hold your past as it doesn’t really give anything but pain and sorrow.

4.    4.  LOVE UNCONDITIONALLY- Well I don’t think anyone else can love you more than your pet. They do not love you coz you have a nice body, or you have money or you follow their instructions. They love you coz you are you. They love with all honesty. They don’t really want to change you or want any return favour even if you are busy all day. We humans definitely need to learn this kind of love and loyalty

5.     5. FOCUS OF PAWSITIVITY – Easier said than done I know but have you ever noticed when you scold your puppy, within 2min he doing some new mischief. Do not sit and crib about things, not in your hand. Instead, grow and focus on positive things in life.

6.   6.   FAMILY DOES NOT MEAN BLOOD- When you pet a puppy home you love them more than your family. In many cases, I have noticed parents might not be concerned about how their sons and daughters are doing but will video call their pets. Family does not mean you have to be related by blood, sometimes our closest friends are more important than family.

7.     7. DO NOT WORRY WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT YOU! – We should stop thinking about what others think about us and focus on ourselves. Pets roam around with dirt all around smartly, they do not care what people think but are always happy, we should definitely learn this from them.

8.   8.   FOLLOW YOUR INSTINCTS – It is very important to follow your gut feeling rather than taking other people’s opinions. You have seen a dog will bite if he feels unsafe he won’t go ask the neighbour what he should do. Always follow your gut feeling.

9.   9.   LISTEN MORE – Have you’re ever noticed that when you share your feelings to your pet he or she will silently sit and listen to you. When we talk to a human he or she will not listen instead start telling us that they have suffered more than we have and that is why we prefer pets more than humans. We should try and become better listeners.

10. 10.  BE CURIOUS – See a cat she will always smell everything new and try to find out what it is. We should also become curious about new things, try new things. Capture new moments, BE CURIOUS, BE YOU.

These are few things that changed me as a person from an introvert to an extrovert. Pets have changed me not only as a person but also helped me understand other people. A lot of times we react more than needed not understanding what that person must be going through.

Love your pets as they are your forever friends.

SIGNS THAT YOUR DOG IS BORED!!

Dogs do not communicate with words but they are always communicating with us through - body language, telepathy and behaviours to make us understand what they want.
DOGS TALK TO THOSE WHO LISTEN!

When your companions are bored they tend to drop some hints.
Remember that no matter what behaviour your dog is exhibiting, some extra physical and mental stimulation should help your pet.

If your dog starts behaving unusually in anyway you should always consult your vet first.
But if he gets clean health chit, consider if your dog is displaying any of these signs of boredom -- then help him beat that!!

#1. DESTRUCTIVE BEHAVIOUR -

Does your pooch chew, shred, dig, and destroy things even when you are at home?  This could be a sign that he has a lot of pent up energy that needs to be released.

#2. TAIL CHASING -

If your dog has been chasing his tail in endless circles chances are he needs something else to keep him occupied. Especially if the vet has checked your pooch nicely.

#3. DEMANDING YOUR ATTENTION -

Whether your pup sticks her nose in your face or starts barking insanely or virtually without anything, she certainly knows how to get her way ... she has got your attention...

#4. LISTLESSNESS -

First and foremost, dramatic changes in energy level should always prompt a vet visit. But if everything checks out, your dog is depressed, lazy behaviour may mean that he's bored and has given up hope of having fun.

#5. EXCESSIVE LICKING -

Has your dog started chewing, licking herself more often than usual?
Again first consult your vet if he says all well then its a sign of lack of grooming and boredom.

#HOW TO STOP ALL THIS?

It's very simple......... play with your pet, take them for walks, groom them and keep them happy.

LET'S MAKE OUR PETS HAPPY AND HEALTHY!!

DOGGIE'S DON'T DRINK WATER ?

A new problem in today's world :

Meera: Kashika you know my pet doesn't like water :( .. I try a lot still he doesn't intake water. Please help me.
Kashika: Ahh I have a brilliant plan for everyone .. lets read...

So a lot of dogs love having water but a lot of them dont like.  You cant force your pets to drink more water. What you can do is make water more appealing.
Here are few tips veterinarians recommend -

1. Buy Bottled Water - Many pets dislike the smell (and taste ) of chlorine and other substances in tap water or R.O water.

2. Add little Flavouring - When you want your pet to drink more, try adding a little flavor to his water bowl by pouring in a small amount from a can of clams, for example. : "My dogs loves the water that's left after boiling meat or chicken "

3. Put gravy on the menu - One of the easiest ways to help your pets get more fluids is to moisten their dry food with the little water or give them moist food which is more easy to digest.

4. Change the bowl -  Dogs and cats are extremely sensitive to odors, and plastic water bowls may develop off smells that discourage them from drinking more. Switching to steel or ceramic bowls will prevent odor buildups.

Why should you walk your dog ??

Reasons why you should walk your dog :

We all love to pamper your kids be it feeding them good food, treats or getting them their fav toy.
With so much of love and pampering, 98% of the pet today are gaining weight and becoming obese.
Obesity is one of the greatest concerns in our country today.
Obesity leads to n no. of diseases like liver enlargement, renal failer, diabetes, and heart issues.

Let's Go Over 10 Reasons Why You Should Walk Your Dog:

1. Bonding. Taking your dog out for a nice evening or early morning walk is a great bonding experience.
 2. Exercise and muscle building. Even if your dog is not overweight, exercise is an important part of keeping your pooch healthy.
3. Walking your dog will tire him out. A tired dog is a well-behaved dog. And a much less destructive dog!
4. While having a good size yard is beneficial, it doesn't supplement for walks. The yard is the yard. Not many new smells, not many new sights, just the same thing every day. Getting your dog out and about provides him with mental stimulation. Smelling new smells, seeing new things, exploring.
 5. Great training opportunities. While your walking, teach things like heel. Or teach him to sit before crossing the road, the opportunities are endless.
 6. Socialization. Walking your dog is a great opportunity to meet other dogs.
7. Walking your dog is great for their digestive system. And can even help with constipation. 8. The more you walk your dog, the more energy you burn, therefore you have a much less hyperactive dog at home.
9. Walking your dog can become a wonderful routine, and helps us humans get out of the house as well!
10. Finally, last but not least - walking your dog isn't only beneficial for him, but also for your own health
Even if you don't have a chance every day to walk your pooch, he will be happy with a short 15-minute walk every couple days. Hey, it's better than nothing! So what are you waiting for? Get outside and walk that pooch!!
Your turn!! We want to know what your favorite part of walking your dog is! Mail us at arora.kashika@gmail.com

When you lose a family member!!

28th SEP 2017... a date I will never forget...

We all treat pets like a baby and kinu was like my own child ... who came to our life and left us empty-handed.

My baby crossed over the rainbow bridge because of  liver disorder or cancer the vet's couldn't judge what happened to him and he went away. My heart cries when I start talking about him and how my house is so empty without him...
In this process of he getting sick and losing him, I learned a lot of things about animals which nobody taught me or guided me .. I wanted all the pet parents to know about it before it is too late and you lose your baby.

Some useful tips to know if your pet is healthy or not.

1. Your pet's urine should be transparent and not yellow. If it's yellow or they have less water it's time for a blood test or vet checkup.

2. Your pet's nose should be always wet. If it's dry that means your pet is sick.

3. Every adult dog or cat has to be dewormed once in 3months and before that has to be given liver tonics as dewormer or vaccines reduce immunity.

4. The stool color of your pet should be brown, not any other color.  It should be solid and brown. if not then your pet is not healthy.

5. Biggest MYTH that animals are carnivores. They are omnivores, they need the balanced diet which includes green vegetables, fruits, rice, chicken. STOP FEEDING YOUR PET ONLY RICE AND CHICKEN OR CHICKEN LIVER.

6.  Every time you get your pet vaccination done, make sure your vet checks your pet and then gives vaccines, coz any wrong vaccine can kill your pet.

7. ANIMALS VOMITING IS NOT NORMAL. Its high time we understand our animals should not vomit if they do it's not normal it's our duty to get them checked and if your vet says it's normal please change your vet.

8. Make sure your pet is getting enough exercise and is not getting obese. Obesity leads to many diseases.

9. Do not give overdose of antibiotics, find out homeopathy alternative or Bach flower remedies for the same.

10. Make sure your pet is active and does not act lazy or breathes heavily when you ask them to play.

I hope all these tips will help many of you will not lose your baby like I lost my kinu.

I know he is with me and will always be. Remember your vet will not guide you all this it's only a person who lost her baby due to lack of vet facility can tell you all this.

Make your furry friend a happy friend...

15 ways to keep a dog occupied indoors

It is easy to keep a dog occupied. It is a lot harder to keep humans occupied!
Dogs are curious and wonderful beings. They like to watch and smell things. They like to explore their surroundings.
Being locked up in a room is not very good for a dog. However, even then there are ways to keep the dog occupied. Following are a few ways to keep a dog occupied indoors

Give them a knotty rope toy...
Easily available online, knotty rope toys can keep a dog occupied for hours. They attempt to untangle the knots, which keeps them busy.

A ball
Every dog loves to play with a ball. But why throw your dog just one? Give him or her plenty of colorful balls and see how the hours pass by! Do not use tennis balls as they contain harsh chemicals.

Keep your windows open...
If you are not at home and your dog is inside, then make certain to keep the doors and windows open. Dogs like to look out of windows and see things around them.

Got a balcony? Even better!
There is no better place for than a big open balcony. I have a very small balcony and even that works for my dogs. They sit there and watch the world go by. Sometimes they bark at suspicious characters loitering about! If the dogs on the street start running, then they too start running on the balcony! If a man or a woman feed the dogs, then they watch that intently.  Sometimes I feel that they wonder about why those dogs are homeless.

An ice cube
Dogs love to lick ice blocks. They keep going at it till the ice melts. Give your dog little ice cubes or an ice block to play with.

Switch on the TV and turn up the volume
By this, I don’t mean that you start watching serials! Switch to a channel like National Geographic and turn up the volume. The sounds made by various animals keep your dog occupied.

Get lots of dental chews
Dental chews are useful in two ways. They keep your dog occupied and they keep their teeth in a good condition. Invest in lots of dental chews!Image result for dental chews for dogs

Ease your dog
If your dog is hyperactive, then you can try medicines for calming them.

Walking your dog before leaving
If your dog is going to be left alone for the better part of the day, then make sure to walk them in the morning. A good walk makes them feel tired and they will get to sleep easily.

Keep away electronics from your dog
Don’t leave your dog alone with wires and cables. None of that will be left intact by the time you get back home.

Food and water dishes
Make certain that your dog has access to food and water. Without adequate food and water, your dog is more likely to attack and chew things.

Finding toys – a great game
Teach your dog the names of the toys they are playing with. For instance, my dogs know what a ball is and go crazy when I say “ball”. Then they start looking around for the ball. Once they find the ball, they get a treat each! This is both a physical and a mental workout for your dog.

Get your dog a friend
Keeping one dog is a complete delight. Keeping two dogs is a sheer delight! My Kutku was alone and lonely till my Browny came along. Now they keep each other busy.

Old socks are good
For some weird reason, dogs just love the smell of old socks. Give your dog some old socks and watch he or she gets busy.

Take your dog to the terrace

If you have access to a terrace, then take your dog there and unleash them! Watch them run around with sheer joy.

Take your dog for exciting pool parties

We arrange for pool parties and social events so don't miss to be a part of it.

A STORY OF AN ADOPTED PET WHO CHANGED THEIR LIFE ALL TOGETHER!!

It all starts and end with her by Ankita Chakraborty!!

Since childhood, I always had a desire to have a pet as my li’l sister and every time I wanted a
Dog, I was refused by my parents as it’s quite a big responsibility. Years passed by and one day my cousins happened to take a little pup home. They named her Snoopy.I was ecstatic that I could meet her every time I wanted to and somewhere my conscience of having a dog got fulfilled. Snoopy was the sweetest puppy I could have met, ever. Days went by Snoopy grew into a big girl, and perhaps the most beautiful and elegant among us.

In 2014 my cousins had to shift to Dubai for their job. It was difficult for them leaving Snoopy but at the same time it wasn’t possible for them to take her along with them. Snoopy needed a loving home. We decided to shift Snoopy with us and I was the happiest one to have done this. The initial days were quite effortful as it became immense difficulty for the poor chap to adjust with us and so did our’s. Our daily routine changed drastically. We had to be by her side the entire day as leaving her perhaps haunted her with the fear of being left alone, again . She used to get restless and barked immensely when we were out of home. We loved her cared for her selflessly, day and night. Snoopy is now the youngest and the most pampered member of my family, and a part that completes my family.
My day starts and ends with her, unlike it was a year before. We play and laugh together. Gifts and treats are a must during any festival. Every day our dad brings home something for Snoopy while returning from work. Every evening, Snoopy is always at the veranda waiting for us to return home. I too ensure that I return home as soon as possible so that I don’t have to keep my baby waiting for long. Thereafter, together we go for a walk and sometimes take Snoopy for a long drive, as she loves riding a car madly.
I am very thankful to my parents that they allowed me to take Snoopy with us and yes, we do love each other unconditionally. Today, I just can’t imagine my life without her. She is my love, my life, my everything.

Snoopy, we all love you!!
